Although we believe the changes were ultimately a good iteration, they did expose several underlying issues that we are addressing. Last year, in an effort to improve agent in-combat positioning, we made it possible for the Tactical system to override the Goal system. agents should move, while the Tactical system provides agents with awareness of their surroundings so that they use and target their abilities intelligently.

We wanted to take a moment to update you all on where we are and how our three major A.I. I have been working alongside Jeff Beaudoin, our Lead Gameplay Engineer, on our gameвЂ™s A.I. With this info gathered, we can start looking into the implications of this info in the next article, to deduce why the game is played the way it is at the top level, and what might change about that.My name is Kevin Gu, and I am a Senior Designer on the Heroes team. So 2 forts down is +40%, 2 forts and a keep is +60%, etc. For every fort/keep a team takes, this passive XP is buffed by 20%, stacking additively. After this timeframe, each team passively earns 23XP per second. Trickle XP starts kicking in 35 seconds into the game. With the patch, the base XP for most camps (excluding item camps) has been doubled, but their XP scaling remains the same. Mercenary Camp scaling gets snapshotted when aggroвЂ™d, and XP gets awarded to the team that captures the point. Similar to minions, Mercenary Camps scale as the game goes on, though their scaling doesnвЂ™t follow the exact same pattern. Exactly how much XP is in structures is listed in the table below.

Currently this is limited to experience for towers (standalone and attached to front walls) on most maps, though Towers of Doom keeps itвЂ™s unnerfed tower XP and full XP on forts and keeps. Structures give a static amount of experience. In the spreadsheet thereвЂ™s a calculator to determine the underdog bonus.

IвЂ™ve made this code slightly easier to read here: A few heroes have their own death coefficient in case their deaths are worth less than 1. It is then modified based on the Bounty Bonus/Underdog bonus that gives teams that are behind more kill XP, and teams that are ahead less kill XP. Hero Kills grant at base 50 * (Hero Level + 5) XP. Other than these exceptions, minion XP is the same, and can be found in the table below.
